E.R.S. Update 12/13

Hi all!

We are up to 7100 g's at the moment, but we need a serious amount of potions and elixirs. Fortitude and D. Wisdom we have none. We need a serious effort farming mats. I spent a lot of time in Zang last night and didn't get any ragveil. This is the stuff we need. We are good on Super mana. We are missing out on the Fort and wisdom sales though so if you get a chance, grab some ragveil up and we'll have spirit make some up for us.

Patience

I would say again that early February is our target date on the E.R.S. completion. I can't imagine it would be longer than that. Sooner though is a possibility. We are working together very well and I appreciate that so much. Netherdrakes are in our future boys and girls. 410% Speed!

Guild Bank

You should all have access to the guild bank. But since we are saving up gold, please do not take money out for repairs. I know it teases me everytime, but it'll just be a gold sink for us. Money wise I know this guild sucks. Meaning you've been working like crazy and have no gold to show for it. BUT, our time is coming. The E.R.S. event must be completed. The speed of completing dailys will be awesome. The amount of herbs we can farm will be increased big time. Anyway please use the guild bank for decisions as to what potions to make next. See what we don't have and make that; Class A stuff only please. We need to have diversity in our portfolio. I'll try to make a sheet of potions that would be a dream weekly set up soon.

4K

We broke the 4000 g barrier last night, make sure you keep the potions coming in. Spirit please take out the necessary mats for flasks of pure death out of the guild bank. Make as many as you can. The flasks are selling like crazy. Special thanks to Shadow for helping me sell the stuff on the AH. We are now a little over 28% complete. I'm getting so excited about having the epic flying mount I can't stand it. Let's get it done ASAP. It would be wise to send flask mats to spirit since he can proc extras and they sell for 40+ gold a pop. I'm very proud of you all for sticking with my vision. Big purple things are not too far away. Also we need to organize a group for the Ogrila daily quest chain for Femm, Shadow and Spirit. As soon as Shadow dings 70 that is what we are going to do.

Alchemy Extravaganza

I'm happy to inform you that Spirit and Soul made over 100 extra potions and elixers! That's 20 stacks for free! Feel free to make more but you should be really farming gold at this point. I recommend the link I sent on daily quests to do this. Especially those with 2 70's. Run them both on the daily's and you should have your 2500 in no time. Sofie is almost to 65 and has over half her gold already, so she should be good by the winter. Honestly I don't think we're going to hit our target of Christmas for the mounts, but late January or early February for sure. I'm going to be a good guild master and farm gold gold gold. Any extra I have will be donated to the E.R.S. project.

Making Gold

If you are 70 and can fly you need to check out this wonderful compilation of daily quests and info on how to get all the daily quests.

I hope it helps you get your 2500g's in time.

Project E.R.S. - Epic Riding Skill

Goal: By Christmas we will have our epic riding skills. Patty and Ded you guys are in it to if you can make level 70 by then. As it is now the guild will have to raise 14000 gold to pay for 1/2 of the ERS. Patty and Ded, you will get your share upon reaching level 70. You will also have to raise 2700 gold on your own, by then. Once the soon to be 70's have reached their goal, we will get our epic flying mounts. There will be no payouts until this goal is reached. Ded and patty remember, half of yours will be paid for when you guys hit 70. I just don't want you feeling like you've been left out.

So just to summerize: Spirit, Soul, Femm, Shadow and Sofie are on pace to hit 70 by Christmas or sooner. Your job is to make 2700 g on you own to cover the cost of the ERS and the mount and to help raise the 14000 gold needed to cover the other half of the ERS. Imagine what we can do with these mounts. Only until the 5 of us reach this goal, or ded and patty too, if they wish to level like crazy, will we get our mounts. So we are all going to do this together. Not one at a time. This was Soul's idea and I totally support it! Good luck and happy farming.

Ranks version 2.1

Changes to the ranks are as follows:

Your rank in the guild will be determined by a few things including, guild points, alchemy level, and fishing level.

Taste Tester – This is a trial rank. All members begin at this level and cannot advance until they have accumulated 10 Guild Points. There are no benefits.

Medicine Man – Requirements 10 or more guild points, fishing skill of 100, Alchemy skill of greater than or equal to 75. Benefits include a 2% share of the profits per week of the total guild alchemy sales. Medicine men may also withdraw Class D and E herbs from Herbybank at the posted GP costs. They are also allowed to bid on recipes at the posted GP costs.

Witch Doctor – Requirements 25 or more guild points, fishing skill of 150 and Alchemy skill of greater than or equal to 150. Benefits include a 4% share of the profits per week of the total guild alchemy sales. Witch Doctors may also withdraw Class C herbs and bid on alchemy recipes. Higher ranks will always win recipes over lower ranks.

Brewer - Requirements 50 or more guild points, fishing skill of 225 and Alchemy skill of greater than or equal to 225. Benefits include a 6% share of the profits per week of the total guild alchemy sales. Brewers may also withdraw Class B herbs and bid on alchemy recipes. Brewers may withdraw gold at a rate of 1 GP = 10 gold. Higher ranks will always win recipes over lower ranks. Brewers are also allowed to invite new members into the guild.

Brewmeister - Requirements 100 or more guild points, fishing skill of 300 and Alchemy skill of greater than or equal to 300. Benefits include a 8% share of the profits per week of the total guild alchemy sales. Brewmeisters may also withdraw any class herbs and bid on alchemy recipes. Brewmeisters my withdraw gold at a reduced amount of 1 GP = 20 gold. Higher ranks will always win recipes over lower ranks.

Alchemy Lords - Requirements 200 or more guild points, fishing skill of 375 and Alchemy skill of greater than or equal to 375. Benefits include a 10% share of the profits per week of the total guild alchemy sales. Alchemy Lords may also withdraw any herbs at no cost. Alchemy Lords can withdraw gold at no cost up to 5% of the total guild bank.

Apothecary rank for non-alchemists

This is a simple and one time rank for non alchemists in the guild. After earning 40 guild points an Apothecary will receive 5% payout per week of the total sales. The quota that apothecaries must earn is no less than 4 stacks of food or 10 elemental earth or water or some combination. Apothecaries may request potions on an as needed basis that is reasonable by the guild master. Apothecaries may not request gold unless agreed on by the guild. Apothecaries are expected to help out the alchemists with their non alchemy professions.

Cooking for guild points

Recently we've been selling food for huge amounts of gold. Here is the following breakdown for cooking food for guild points:

Food level 1-125 full stack = 1/3GP
Food level 130-200 full stack = 1/2GP
Food level 201-300 full stack = 2/3GP
Food level 300+ full stack = 3/4 GP

Check out this link for all the information on food levels and where to find it:
Cooking

FYI

For those over level 35 a static rate of guild points per level of progression will be awarded. So if you increase one level you get 1 GP, 2 levels = 2GP's and so on.

I'm also working on cooked food as a way to get GP's. The more difficult the food the more points. Keep on fishing.

Items for the non-alchemist for guild points

The following items are materials in alchemy and should be included in earning Guild Points for the non alchemist.

Large Fang
Small Flame Sac
Large Venom Sac
Oily Blackmouth
Firefin Snapper
Volatile Rum
Mithril Ore
Iron Bar
Stonescale Eels
Thorium Bars
Thorium Ore
Elemental Earth
Elemental Water
Elemental Fire
Mote of Fire
Mote of Air
Mote of Life
Mote of Water

Quotas for Medicine Man

The weekly quota for medicine man will be 4 stacks of class D potions until you get to level 45. After level 45 you should be gathering sungrass regularly so you’ll need to produce 4 class C potions as a minimum. These are quotas, so you’ll be responsible for producing this amount. Try your best. It shouldn’t be hard. Most of you already far exceed this. There will be no points given for the quota potions, but all potions after the quota will receive guild points as normal. If you do not meet your quota you will not receive your weekly payment.

I hope this isn’t coming off negative. This is just needed structure. Please let me know what you all think. This is a democratic guild and this is version 1. Is it too tough, too easy, just right?

A huge gratz to Soulchaser for sending in an amazing 30+ stacks of potions including 2 flasks of supreme power and at least 20 stacks of class A potions. At level 56 this is freaking unbelievable! That's huge dedication on his part. Soulchaser is now promoted to Brewmeister and is the guilds first official officer.

Cranking it up a notch

Hi everybody! We are going to need some serious gold in the next few weeks for epic mounts and riding skills. So please if you can double your efforts in potion production. With Cowpatty hitting 60 and Violentfemm a few days away from this goal, that will nearly drain our gold reserves. As a guild master I want to make sure that my guild mates get their epic mounts first. Soulchaser and Earthshadow are only a week or two away so we are going to need to make about 2000 gold. Hi level potions especially agility, defense, heath and mana pots are where it’s at. Healing power, onslaught, adepts, and healing power are close behind. Anyway we can crank up production would be greatly appreciated as we all roll toward the long term goal of 70. The good news is that once we have 4 or 5 in the outlands we should be rolling in gold and I’m certain that we’ll be able to generate enough gold for our flying mounts.

Thanks and keep up the awesome work. I’m very proud of all of you guys, girls and cows.

Upcoming themed week

Inspired by Soulchaser, I thought a great thing we could do as a guild is have a week in the future, where one guild member is paired up with another guild member and the higher level character helps the lower level character by finding a way to upgrade their armor or weapons, help them with a difficult quest, or something creative. Each character will be responsible for finding a unique way of helping out and easing the leveling process.

Much more on this upcoming event is coming soon.

Fishing Week Extended through June 12th

I’ve decided to try to make fishing somewhat fun. I finally finished the artisan fishing quest and I have some advice. When you travel to a different spot and it takes more than 30 catches for you to land the prize quest fish, try logging out and back in. I must have fished 100 fish out of feralas before logging. After logging back in I got it on the 3rd cast. Also if you haven’t fished yet since the patch, it only takes 20 seconds instead of 30. You’ll notice that it’s much better. I’m issuing a few new fishing related quests and their rewards. I hope you enjoy.

? Getting your fishing skill to 300 = 4 GP's +2GP's if you beat Femm to 300. (current 231 @June 5)

? Getting your fishing skill to 225 = 1 GP

? Participating in the Strangle Thorn Vale fishing contest on Sunday. Hopefully Femm and Sofie will be there and it will be a good way to level up your fishing. Here are the requirements for that. = 2 GP’s.

A. 250 Fishing Skill
B. 200 Fishing Skill and a bunch of Nightcrawlers (+50 for 10 minutes)
C. 175 Fishing Skill and a bunch of Shiny Baubles (+75 for 10 minutes)

? Completing the artisan fishing quest = 3 GP’s. See the website for the walkthrough for that. It worked for me.

How to get Artisan Fishing [please read] Fishing week is June 3rd through June 9th.

To fish beyond 225 you need to do this. Don’t start this until you have 225 fishing.

Artisan - Via a Quest

To achieve Artisan fishing rank you will need to complete a quest. Remember, you must be a character level of 35 and posses a fishing skill of 225 or above (without bonuses) before you can begin either of these quests below.

Seek out Lumak, in the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar. He will issue you with the quest "You Too Good" which sends you off to see Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh.

Nat Pagle
is a level 34 fishing trainer located on an island in Tidefury Cove in the contested territory of Dustwallow Marsh. He is the greatest fisherman in World of Warcraft. Apparently, he used his fame to launch/license his own line of Fishing equipment.

Players seeking to attain Artisan Fishing need to talk to him and do a quest to gain the skill. Players must have a fishing skill of 225 to start the quest.

Nat Pagle is located at 58,59 in Dustwallow Marsh

From here on it's the same for characters from both Factions. Nat Pagle will issue you with the quest "Nat Pagle's Angler Extreme" that calls for you to fish for 1 each of the following fish in the locations listed. The co-ordinates listed are the exact co-ordinates that I caught my fish. Take Aquadynamic Fish Attractors with you to ensure you have the highest possible skill in fishing.

I had a level 225 fishing skill and used no bait. The first and last fish I caught on my first cast and the middle two after about six casts.

Feralas Ahi

Verdantis River, Feralas (62,52)

Sar'theris Striker

Sar'theris immediately south of Shadowprey Village (25,78)

Savage Coast Blue Sailfin

Savage Coast, just outside Grom' Gol Base Camp (29,23)

Misty Reed Mahi Mahi

Misty Reed Strand, Swamp of Sorrows (90,73)

You need the quest in order to catch any of these fish. They will not spawn for you without the quest.

TWO WORDS...FISHING WEEK

That's right people after the 2.1 patch gets out its only going to take 20 seconds to land a fish instead of 30. So the week of June 3rd through the 9th will be fishing week. We are having a contest to see who can beat femm to 300 fishing. If you do you will be awarded crazy gp's. It's also a way to get Sofie the cook of the guild to fish. Though chaser is a close second to wearing the white fluffy chef hat. Femms current fishing skill is at 213 and will remain there until June 3rd. So if you want to get yours up to 213 that would be fair.

Brewer rank change

I've made a change to the Brewer rank and the full rank details can be viewed by looking at the old posts under March at Ranks 2.1. The change is that Brewers can now invite members into the guild.

FYI

For those over level 35 a static rate of guild points per level of progression will be awarded. So if you increase one level you get 1 GP, 2 levels = 2GP's and so on.

I'm also working on cooked food as a way to get GP's. The more difficult the food the more points. Keep on fishing.

Current Leader Board

Earthspirit = 41.8 GP's Rank: Witchdoctor
Earthshadow = 39.9 GP's Rank: Witchdoctor
Soulchaser = 25.2GP's Rank: Witchdoctor
Cowpatty = 20.95GP's Rank: Medicine Man

Joining the Guild

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how a new person who wants to join our guild, gets up in ranks. Here are my initial thoughts.

This is an alchemy guild that has it’s ranks based on Alchemy. However, a non alchemy guild member could supplement us tremendously. Someone has to grind out elemental earth, water, and fire. Someone has to fish Firefin Snappers and Stonescale Eels. I know from vast experience that if you are doing that you are not gathering Dreamfoil and Gromsblood. Someone has to mine Arcane crystals, because we can’t.

I think anyone who wishes to join our guild should be able to donate enough time, effort, and materials to our cause that they should be able to hit a rank where they get a share of the weekly earnings. I feel that if we have alts in the guild though they shouldn’t be able to share the wealth. For example if I brought Krrang into Alchanon, he wouldn’t be able to get a cut of the bank. I think that non alchemists could receive GP’s for donating stuff that sells to Toitsknees, such as crafted items, cooked meat and so on.

I’m not sure your thoughts on this but we need to begin thinking about some structure on this matter. I think they should have quotas just like everyone else to receive weekly money, such as farming elemental earth or mithril ore for stoneshield potions. I think fishing and mining would be nice although I don’t know if mining is required to be in Alchanon, if the guild member is not going to be an alchemist.

I really would like some input on these matters. As always this is a democratic guild, this is run by the creative juices of the many. Please let me know what you think.

Quotas for Guild Rank Medicine Man V.1

Points Tuesday

Greetings all! I have decided to switch the guild points update to Tuesdays. This seems like a natural thing since there is that built in down time. So for this week only I am extending the points gathering and quest opportunities until Tuesday April 10th. This should give you plenty of time to get those guild points.

What can you make?

Please post a reply as to what you can make that are Class D or better. No big hurry on this. Thanks.

Being the Guild Master

The role of a professions based guild requires a guild master that is on top of things. So I want you all to know that I’ve been purchasing some useful recipes, that are the non trainable, green drops from mobs. As soon as someone reaches medicine man status, these recipes will be offered up to that person. Guild points will be calculated in the morning, so any leveling quests will end tonight. New leveling quests will be given out soon. I’m going to be sending some mats to people that are online when I am to get the Auction House going this weekend. Please keep in mind that if you receive mats from Herbybank, and you make potions, you will not receive the points for them. I don’t think that’s at all fair to those that are not online when I am. We are about empty already and going into a weekend that’s not so good. So keep those potions coming. I just wanted you to know that all the decisions that I make are for the good of the guild. I’m very proud to see you all make such awesome progress and for putting up with my fishing requirements for leveling. I’m doing it too.

Another goal I have to buy mounts for people, so it looks like Soulchaser is in the running for that. Possibly next week. The Bank is up to 60 gold.

More addons

Arc Hud - This mod is pure eye candy. It's the coolest in my book.
Skill level - This mod tells you what level your skills are at, alchemy fishing and so on. Extremely handy.
Quest Level - This mod tells you what level your current quests are. Love it.

Remember use add ons are your own risk. I personally have used these and all the others that I've recommended for a long time with no problems.

One more day to hit those level quests for Guild Points. Good luck. I'll post the results when I can.

A note on being a taste tester

Until you are a medicine man (rank 2) you will not have a potion quota. So feel free to level up quickly by donating potions and herbs to Toitsknees for all the points you can get. As soon as you get to medicine man status, you'll start receiving manageable quotas.

Good luck,
Violentfemm

Fishing Buddy - a must have to keep track of where and when you caught your prize fish.
Recipe Radar - Really cool mod that makes a scroll appear on the minimap showing where in the city, vendors are selling recipes for the skills you have, ie: alchemy, cooking, first aid.
Cartographer - this is the correct link to the full version. The old link just got you the basic version without the cool herbalism stuff. So if you've downloaded the old one, I apologize, try this one. Earthshadow and I both use it and love it.

Blizzard says that we have a "great idea!"

I’ve recently called and opened a ticket asking about whether the way we are choosing to run the guild is in violation of the TOS. The official response is as follows:

Petition: Hi,

I am the banker [toitsknees] and guildmaster [violentfemm] of an alchemy guild called Alchanon. My question is: Does it violate the terms of service to have my guildmates send the bank alt all the potions so that he can put them on the AH. We decided as a guild that would be the best way so that we wouldn't be stepping on each other's toes posting and undercutting each other. Is this ok? Then the gold would be distributed at a percentage according to their ranks in the guild.

Answer: I think that's a great idea, friend. As long as your guildmates are aware that once the potions are mailed to your character, they are no longer their property. As well as the gold received from the selling of the potions.

Should you require further assistance, please submit another help request the next time you are online. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!
